Vogue Knitting Live!
It was my great good fortune to attend VK Live on Saturday at The Hilton in NYC. I was there with Lori Beitler and Susan Pestrichello, the partners of Stitchuary, for whom I have designed two one-skein projects for their line of American yarns from small farms.
Bette’s Garden Bag
I’m always amazed at the talent and creativity of my fellow knitters. My friend Bette: knits, quilts, sews, gardens, cooks, golfs, does needlepoint & fly-fishing – and those are only the ones I can remember! In the knitting realm, I always referred to her as “The Queen of Colorwork” – to see the beauty of the fabric she creates in Fair Isle or Intarsia – is truly beyond the beyond. This felted bag was based on her own garden. I remember her telling me she literally dreamt of ways to knit and felt the flowers. The details are exquisite – custom satin lining – a little bee, hand tied by her husband, a beaded closure. Ahh… the joys of knitting.
