I had the pleasure of shooting some new work for knitwear designer Helen Bingham. She is a very talented designer with a great eye for color. Her pieces have the winning combination of being wearable, fashionable and joyful. We had a beautiful day, near the State House & train station in Providence – the colors were glowing!
Long-ways Garter Cowl
Garter stitch is probably the first invention in knitting, and is also one of it’s timeless best. The hypnotic rhythm of working it, the delicious fabric it makes, the cool fact it comes out square (stitches x rows) the timeless garments: witness Sally Melville’s “Einstein Coat”, anything Elizabeth Zimmerman, Jared Flood’s homages.
